After getting his marketing degree, 7 years as a professional hockey player, and 4 years in the energy industry in Scotland, Doug Teskey knew that the future was deregulation. So when he returned to the United States he started looking for the perfect business model to take advantage of the changes in energy sales. Through his research, he looked at a variety of marketing companies, programs and compensation plans. He analyzed the good and the bad - extracted the key elements and developed the company around products and services everyone uses.
Then, by chance, he met Bill Hoffmann.
With over 25 years of experience in Direct Sales and millions of dollars in sales, Bill immediately saw the potential in the energy market. He knew that with his experience in building and training a sales force combined with Doug’s expertise in energy, they were on the right track.
And in 2008, Consumer Choice Marketing was formed.
“Because these products are ones that people use every day and already understand, it’s the perfect business for Direct Sales”, says Hoffmann, “because there is virtually no learning curve for a new Broker.”
From day one the company has made a commitment to their independent Brokers. “We know that 95% of our Brokers are new to business,” says Teskey, “so we made a conscious decision to design the company for them, to make it simple … yet profitable.”
That strategy is working.
With Brokers able to sell products and services in all 50 states, the company is breaking sales records every month. But according to Hoffman, it’s just the beginning. “We’ve only just begun this journey. We’re looking for more people to join us, people who want to change their lives and profit from what could be the biggest thing ever seen in Direct Sales.”
